Open Door Ministries
“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: For I was an hungered, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in…” (Matthew 25:34-35closeMatthew 25:34-35 34 Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me. . . .’ (ESV) ).
Our church has been blessed with the opportunity to participate in a ministry of We Care I.N.C. (In the Name of Christ) called the “Open Door Ministry.” This ministry provides a free meal each Tuesday evening to anyone in need. Usually over 100 to 120 persons are fed. On the third Tuesday of every other month, when the dinner is hosted by the First United Methodist Church of South Haven, volunteers from our church help with the dinner, and anyone who would like to volunteer to help is more than welcome.
If you would like to find out when the next Open Door dinner will be held, or if you would like to help with the dinner, please feel free to contact Dorann Fleming or Edna Fleming, our coordinators.
